About
This staff training module empowers refuge staff and board members to use Christchurch and Canterbury population, NZDep (deprivation), and family-violence data for targeted service design, outreach planning, and culturally safe responses for Māori, Pacific, and other communities. Participants will learn to interpret local census and deprivation data, understand the limitations of recorded family-violence statistics, and apply data alongside tikanga-based community consultation to adapt services. The module includes practical mapping exercises, culturally-adapted service design, workflow templates, and a short assessment. Estimated completion: 45–60 minutes.
